Approach

Rachel strives to provide a safe and compassionate environment where clients can feel truly seen and heard during their healing process. Her therapy approach emphasizes the importance of joining with individuals and families in order to promote the greatest growth and change, in and outside of the therapy office. By shaping techniques and tools to each unique individual, Rachel will assist the client and family in exploring habitual patterns of behavior, thoughts, and emotions. Rachel’s theoretical orientation includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma Informed care.

Rachel enjoys working with adolescents (12+) and young adults experiencing depression, trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, identity development, and body image concerns. She enjoys working with members of the LGBTQ community.

Through connection and respectful curiosity, Rachel commits to supporting clients in reaching their desired goals.

 

Background and Experience

Rachel is a dually Licensed Mental Health Counselor (License #LH6085918) in the state of Washington and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon (#C4732). She has over four years of experience providing therapy services to children, adolescents, and families. She is a National Certified Counselor with the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Her formal education includes a B.A. in Psychology from Gonzaga University and a M.A. in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling.

Rachel has additional specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eating Disorders.
