Kayla Moore, MS, LMFTA

Individual and Couples Therapist

Often in life, stress is caused by the friction between the expectations placed on us and the reality we strive to maintain everyday. This conflict can cause symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance use, and tension in your relationships.

My work is informed by many evidence based practices within a Narrative Therapy model. Through this model, I approach therapy with individuals and couples with the assumption that you are the expert of your life and I am here to help support and facilitate positive change and growth. While working together to create a preferred lived reality, I also look at the systems you are a part of, discussing the importance of understanding where your perceptions and thoughts come from. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment for the process of exploration and healing.

I enjoy working with individuals, women going through life transitions, and couples.

Background and Experience

Much of my clinical training comes from working with youth, families, and parents around depression, anxiety, trauma, family dynamics, coping skills, communication, self-esteem, and parenting skills. I also have special interests and training in working with clients around sexual health concerns (either individually or with a partner) and women’s life transitions that can be especially burdened by our culture’s messages of what is expected and desired of a woman. My education, training, and experience has prepared me to counsel individuals of all ages, ethnicities, races, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

I am currently working towards a certification in Sex Therapy with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). In working with couples, I am certified in PREPARE/ENRICH premarital counseling.
